With grays being more stubborn (and just more!) I can't swing $150 every 4 weeks. I used to color at home, but now there are some newer brands out there. I was using Feria. Any other suggestions?

I used to do my own hair. But it is really never the same as when the pros do it. But I agree, I could not afford to go to the salon, or at least I thought! FYI: If you have a Hair Cuttery near you, they only charge $20 for a rinse. I only use rinses (semi-permanent) because I have a lot of gray now and the roots were driving me crazy. As well, I have super fine, easy to damage hair. So even when I was coloring at home I used the semi-perm, non-ammonia based colors. But the quality just isn't as good and I was finding myself needing to color more often. Now I spend the $20 approximately every 6 weeks and it is SO worth it! The color is better quality than the do-it-yourself boxes and obviously hassle free! You pick from the swatches just like you would with permanent color. It covers my gray beautifully. However, keep in mind, just like the boxed stuff, their claims of so many washes (in Hair Cuttery's case they claim semi is 60 washes) it does not last that long. I wash my hair about 4x's per week and by week 6 its time to go back. But like I said for $20 and no hassle, its worth it!!!

I use the Clairol Nice and Easy 10 minute Perfect 10 colors. It is fast and easy to use and does not fade as quickly as other brands.
