Think about the last time you bought a new hair product. Who or what did you turn to in order to learn about the new product?

Forgot to say... I will also try something new if I have a really good coupon for it. That way if I don't like it, I don't feel like I've wasted a lot of money.

I rely on friends' experiences and opinions. Especially those who have hair like mine. Also message boards like this. Sometimes I clip little articles or suggestions out of magazines too. I really want opinions that come from someone other than the maker of the product. Know what I mean? Of course the maker thinks it's a great product!

Honestly, I'm a browser; I look at the shelves, and whatever looks neat is what I go for. I do like natural products, but honestly? I've never been a girlie girl, so I don't know who to ask for advice about this sort of thing!

I turned to recommendations from friends when I wanted to switch shampoos after looking at all the brands available in the store. I also will get recommendations from my hair stylist on good products to use.

I usually try a new product once it has been recommended to me by a friend or family member. Word of mouth is big and when I hear that a product is really good from someone I trust, I'm more likely to give it a try.

Oh I'm a total product junkie so I don't really base my purchases off of what others buy, BUT I will check things out online if I see an ad for something that looks interesting.

Most of the time though I see something in the store itself and purchase it based on it just being there. ;) Packaging is big, though it doesn't have to be anything crazy. I remember the first time I bought an Aussie product was simply because I'm a purple freak and purple & Aussie go hand-in-hand. The fact that I became attached to Scrunch Spray was a nice by-product. ;)

The package of new hair products is what attracts me first. I want exciting hair so I look for an exciting package. Once it catches my eye, I'll read the label, check with my friends to see if anyone has heard about it and think it over a time or two until I decide to try it. If it doesn't produce results right away I often won't try the brand again even if they come out with something new.
