Assymetric cut?

I am thinking about getting a drastic haircut. I used to work in a hair salon in my mid to late 20's and I did a lot of trendy haircuts in bright colors, but I am now 33 and have worn my hair more or less the same, in a medium length layered style, for several years. I live in the hip, recently gentrified, area of my city and have been seeing a lot of girls with assymetric cuts, though they are mostly in their early 20's. But I think the style is very cute. My dd had the same cut last year ( she's grown it out, so we wouldn't be matching or anything). I cut it for her, so I like to think I am single-handedly responsible for the trend, since I never saw it on anyone else before that. Lol. I mentioned maybe getting it done to my DH and he didn't seem horrified at the idea.

Do you think it would work on someone in their 30's who is not nearly that skinny or cute?
