I'm new to this board, and I need help. I've never had a professional manicure or pedicure, but I'd like to start doing it for myself, I'm tired of ugly hands and feet!! I have received a foot bath and a paraffin spa as gifts, but how do I use these when doing a manicure and pedicure? Also, I've gotten a manicure set, but there are tools in there I don't even begin to know what to do with them. Can anyone out there help me? Thanks!!

Hi SOSASSY73 and welcome to the Get Beautiful Nails board. We are so glad you found us! I am including several links to this post to help answer some of your questions.

I also think an even better way to find out how to do your own manicure and pedicure is to have at least one of each professionally done. That way you can really ask the nail professional questions that are important to know. And I feel it would be the best way for you to really know what to do and what not to do.

You can use the paraffin at different times of your manicure or pedicure. I always used the paraffin after I soaked the clients hands and/or feet, filed and shaped the nails and removed the calluses on the feet. Then I would dip the hands and/or feet in the paraffin wax 3 times, cover with plastic baggies and wrap in a towel. I would allow them to sit for about 10-15 minutes.
