Hello to all you Ladies out there who like me like to have real nails.

Here's the nail routine that I follow, feel free to join in, your nails work the same as mine.

Right now I have got my nails polished and I moisturise my hands and nails every day.

I will do this up until the 15th of April.

Up until the 15th of April I will NOT file my nails at all.

I will let you know what i do after the 16th April.

Like they say you have got to be in it to win it, if you want your nails to work for you, you have got to work for them.

Dont forget to let me know what your nail routine is, we may be able to swop tips:-)

ACK! Nevermind I'm not doing this!

I make my living doing nails....why would I even contemplate telling people to only come to me during a certain MOON???? NO WAY.

I don't believe in this stuff. Just don't.

So glad to have you on this adventure with me, it's like being with my real friends, we all get together and help each other with our nails, some of us are not so good at nail filing, but I have to say that I am getting really good at shaping my nails now.

On the 17th of April I will remove my nail varnish wash my hands in warm soapy water, I will then file about 1mm of nail off (my nail tips are approx 4mm now so by the time I file them they will be about 5mm) when I first started following this routine my nails were shorter and my nail beds were not as strong so obviously I didnt file as much off. I moved house in Nov 02 so filed my nails short so that I wouldn't break them lifting big boxes, but within a month they were back to were they used to be. What I am trying to say is depending on how long/short you want your nails depends on how much nail you file off.

I will push my cuticles back (I push my cuticles back most days during the waning moon) and if I feel I need to I apply my cuticle removing cream. (I use an Avon Cuticle cream remover, but I like the sound of your cuticle eraser, more details please:-)).

I then use my ridge remover on my 4 way buffer, then the smooth side and then the polish side.

During the waning moon I polish my nails with the polish side of my 4 way buffer most days.

When I tidy my nails, I lightly file them and make sure I have no snags on them, just get them in a nice shape really.

I do know that during the waning moon you are not supposed to use any oils or moisturizers, so I don't. I suppose you can use an oil cuticle remover though.

But you can use oils and moisturizers every day during the waxing moon.

Looking forward to sharing this adventure with you:-)and any tips you can send my way.

Well - I use to do this EVERY night, but now it is bout EVERY OTHER night...

I file and buff - I have to keep my nails on the short side from all the typing I do all day long!!!! Mine will grow EXTREAMLY long if I dont file them and with in two weeks I wont be able to type! LOL!

Normally jus two color coats. No base or top coat as I do them so often! Plus with Softball now, That is takin more of my evening time! So I moved this to everyother night.

I have a hand lotion I keep on my desk to use all through out the day! A cuticle cream I apply to my cuticles an hour before I polish! *wink*

How long does all that work take you, you probable spend more time an evening doing your nails than I spend in a month on mine,LOL!

I too type all day, I find that my typing style has changed to suit my nails.

Thats a lot of cuticle cream you must be using, do you really use it every other day??

You don't want to join in this adventure then Stressie??:-)

You seem to have your nails sorted which is just FAB, but it would have been nice having you on board, as the saying goes the More the Merrier!

Have a fun day Stressie

Once a week I:

Remove nail polish

File nails down and smooth out snags

Wash hands

Apply SolarOil and AHA cuticle remover and a hand cream

Wait 10 minutes

(sometimes) push back cuticles with an orangewood stick wrapped in cotton

Use acetone to "clean" nails of oils

Buff off excess shine (very light buffing with an xtra fine grit)

Apply Stickey base coat

Apply 2 coats of polish

Apply Seche Vite

Let dry 10 minutes and then apply more SolarOil and hand lotion
