Nail Strengthener and Vitamins for Nails

I'm looking for a nail strengthener that's right for me. My nails aren't in bad shape, I would just like for them to be stronger. I've read about all different kinds and tried a couple such as OPI's Nail Envy and Sally Hanson's Maximum Growth. I'd like to know everyone's suggestions as to what would be the best for me.

Also I know that calcium is good for the nails, what other vitamins are good for nail health?

Hi dorcas ruth and WELCOME to the Get Beautiful Nails Board. I know a lot of women on this board have had wonderful results using Nail Tek nail strenghtener. Here's there website if you are interested in learing more: http://www.nailtek.com/

They have several different formulas for different types of nails. You may want to email Nail Tek regarding any questions you may have about what formula would be best for your particular nails. You can also do a search regarding Nail Tek and what some members have had to say about Nail Tek. Look in the upper left hand corner and you will see a box that says: Find Messages About______ and then put in Nail Tek.

Regarding vitamins for nails, I've never really been into taking vitamins for nails. I think with a good diet and some TLC your nails should do just fine.

Just to add to goddess's comments, I've read a number of articles on vitamins & they all say that vitamins do nothing for nails. Nails are affected by moisture, if you moisturize them they will respond. It doesnt help to take calcium or any other supplements. Hope that helps.

Like your self Dorcas i have tried the sally hanson range in the past but did not get long standing results, for the past 18 months i have been the proud owner of very strong nails, i didnt have to buy any nail care products, if you want i can tell you how to get a free nail care plan, that works on a long term basis.

Thanks ladies, I ordered me some Nailtek Formulation I. I also got me a bottle of Solar Oil. I've seen a lot of good messages about it and thought I'd give it a try. They both seem to be pretty popular.

Now for a new question. Can anyone recomend a good top coat to me? I want one that will help keep my polish from chipping or fading, as well as last longer.
