New Polish Color = LOVE

My mom came over and we were looking through her Redbook and there was an ad for Sally Hansen colors (I want to say it was ocean colors, or something like that)— all blues. I love blue. I don't always wear it on my nails, but I love it. Anyway, one particulat shade caught both our eyes — Mermaid's Tale. I loved it so much I had to go out and hunt it down! Found it at Target. :)

It's the salon complete, so it's base, color, and top coat in one. HOWEVER, I don't know why, but I definitely need a top coat. I think it would probably go on better over a base color. Like a deep blue or black. Anyway, here's my results — with flash on. Also, my pointer has two coats, the other nails are just one coat (directions say two coats).

I understand, it is a nice color. I don't like glitter because 1) it's hard to remove and 2) it reminds of something I wore as a little kid - LOL

Thanks! :)

I'm not normally a glitter person myself. I made the mistake once of getting glitter as a gel manicure, ROFL. BUT, there is just something about this color that screams my name!

I think everyone knows here that I don't like glitter. But it looks great on you!

I went outside to put something in the mailbox and took a photo of the sun hitting my nails (and probably made the neighbors wonder what the frak I was doing! LOL). Here it is:

Oooh, looks like fun! Was it hard to apply with all that glitter in it?

I put on a color last night that I fell immediately in love with - Diamond Geezer by Butter London. It's silver with a sort of chrome finish. I thought it would be hard to apply but it went on PERFECTLY. Two coats made for perfect color too: http://www.lipglossiping.com/2010/12/butter-london-%E2%80%93-diamond-geezer-notd/.

You know, in the image it shows it going on so smooth. I don't know if it was me or what but if I let it go on smooth, there was no glitter getting on my nail. So it looks choppy on those other nails because I sort of patted the polish on to get the glitter on. The second coat went on much easier. But in the middle of doing it I had to run to the pediatrician's office unexpectedly (or I wouldn't have started my nails!) and by the time I got home, the one hand I only had one coat on had chunks missing because the hexagon glitter doesn't always lay flat and it was picked/caught on things and ripped off.

I am much happier with a final clear coat on top though. My photo doesn't do the color justice though. Here's another site with the photo: http://gothampolish.blogspot.com/2013/03/sally-hansen-complete-salon-manicure.html

I think she touched the photo up a bit though because it's definitely more turquoise than what she has. But I do like it over black. I bought a cheap black to try out next time. :)

The diamond geezer is a nice color!

It's glitter, little sparkles and then bigger hexagon type ones. It was a bit rough so I decided to put a clear coat over them. Here's the final. This is two coats of polish and once coat of clear.

The color is nice. Are those bubbles I see or is it supposed to look like that? I have  an OPI Navy that I periodically use. It's a very dark navy.
