I usually push my cuticles back once a week or so. Depending on when I give myself a manicure and/or how bad they are looking. I have cuticle oil that I use on them.

I for one don't because 1. I don't need to and 2. I've read that unless you need to, its not good to push your cuticles back. So I don't. Now if I get a hangnail, I might cut them to get rid of the hangnail, but that's it.

In most cases, softening your cuticles and pushing them back eliminates the need to trim cuticles or hangnails.
