Your son is in the hospital? Waylon - right? I just now noticed from your signature that he's waiting for a transplant.

Yes, he has a central line to receiving his IV nutrition and he developed an infection in it. Goes with the territory. We are headed home today though. We are both excited about that!

He is waiting on a Small Bowel Transplant. Not something that is very common.

I do seem to remember you left iVillage due to your son being sick. I was sorry to hear that back then.

He is doing well. Our life has been turned upside down, but we have adjusted to it well. He has the central line to get his IV nutrition and he has an ostomy for all of his waste. It's a lot for a 6 year old to go through, but he is such a fighter. Over all he does really well, but about every 6 weeks or so it seems he gets a line infection and we spend a week in the hospital. We have came to accept it as part of our life. If you didn't know he was sick, by looking at him, you wouldn't have any idea. I've attached a pic of him taken back in October.

Oh, he is cute! He looks very healthy. Sorry you had to go through this but it sounds like you are handling it well!
