It’s not just Real Housewives and Hollywood stars who want to stay youthful. In 2012, a record-setting 6.1 million Americans (94 percent of them women) receivedBotox injections. While some turn to the procedure to fight migraines or excessive sweating, the majority simply want to look younger. Here, women reveal the good, the bad and the ugly truth they learned from getting Botox.

Funny enough, my sister just had it done in her armpits to stop sweating.

I don't know. On the one hand, I'm lucky that I don't have wrinkles just yet, with the exception of my forehead. I think that's from frowning though. I was wondering about botox, but you know how there are the side effects that happen to a few people, and someone always has to be in the 'few' — well, that's always me. LOL So I'm very leery. :/

I wouldn't do it.  The results look great in pictures, but they're kind of weird IRL.  My son had to have major plastic surgery a couple of years ago, and his surgeon, who was attractive but not model-beautiful, had a smooth, ageless face.  Of course, whatever she had done was very skillfully done - I'm guessing fillers and Botox - but her face was missing the "markers" of lines and wrinkles that help you see who that person is. She had a smooth face with no personality to it.  Seeing the real results of nonsurgical procedures made me decide right then & there that I would not get them myself.

I'd rather look like a 50yo with personality than a woman of no clear age *or* personality.

Yes, I believe botox is not exactly what everyone thinks it is. Here is a first hand account of getting botox injections for excessive sweating: Botox for sweating
