Book Wish/Gift Lists

It's getting closer to that time of year again... I'm working on my Christmas gift lists and books are at the top of the list for most of my family. My daughter is on the ball; she has a wish list set up so I can see what she's interested in and boy, it makes things a lot whole lot easier!

the sears Christmas catalogue, oh i remember those days. lol

now, when i want a book i usually just buy it myself. i have never used the wish list feature on amazon. i like getting either gift certificates or money to get what i want. it's usually what i give too mainly because my kids and grands are so spread out it's easier than sending packages.

I don't buy books very often. Since DH and I both read, we could never afford to buy or house all the books we read! We live in Dallas, and we use the library constantly.

I do maintain several wish lists on Amazon. The default list is for things I want to buy (not just books). I also have one called Library Items that I use for things I want to check out from the library. I have the wonderful problem that if I put lots of things on my queue at the library, they all come in at the same time, and I can't read them all. So I use the Amazon list as a sort of running Want-to-Read list, and then put things in my library queue as needed.

I also remember looking at the Sears catalog; even though I wasn't a big toy-lover when I was a kid, I still loved looking at it!

Yes I have a Amazon wish list. I want 6 books that are part of a series I'm addicted too. It's the Outlander by Diana Gabalon. I've dropped hints to dh on facebook. Lets see if he takes/gets the hints?

I never put specific books on my gift list because my husband complains that I have too many already and they take up too much space (and, of course, he's right). I think this year I will just ask for an Amazon.com gift certificate so I can download Kindle books on my own.

I have a wish list on Amazon, but there are so few people who check it, or who buy me gifts, that I usually just end up getting what I want myself, or waiting till it's available on Paperback Swap, where I also have a wish list and get notified when one of my listed books is available (and PBS is free!).

Not only is PBS free, you have to get rid of books for it to work. That's win/win!!!
