If anyone likes true-life adventure stories, I just saw that the Kindle edition of Barefoot Sisters: Southbound, by Lucy and Susan Letcher is being offered for free today. I read it last year and really ejoyed it!

I also picked up a free download of The Last Romanov by Dora Levy Mossanen; if it rains this weekend, I've got lots to read! LOL

I also downloaded The Last Romanov. I went back and looked up Barefoot Sisters but it's not available to Canadians. It annoys me when they do that. Amazon enjoys when we pay for books but they often get stingy with the freebies.

Aww Kathie... I'm sorry you weren't able to get it. It's crazy to me that they'll offer it free to some areas and not others! I was going to offer to loan it to you, but that's one of the books where loaning isn't an option, dang it!

You're welcome; I get so many great book suggestions here, I wanted to return the favor! :smileyhappy:

I have to agree with Ruth -- Kindles are well worth it! So many free books, you're never without something to read! Plus, I've discovered some new authors that I'd probably never stumbled across on my own. And I've always got something to entertain the grandkids if we're stuck somewhere waiting; they love the games I've added to mine.

Did you know you can get a free Kindle app for your computer or smartphone, too? It's a good way of kind of testing out the Kindle experience before you buy; you can download the same free books and all! Some people prefer using the apps over buying a Kindle. My dh is one of those; he has the app on his computer and prefers that.
