Hello,

I'm Brenda from the Christian Bookshelf. Smile  Is there any interest in a read-a-thon this year? I am not too busy in the summer so I'd like to run it again if we get some participants.

Please post here if you'd like to participate!

What are the rules for the Read-a-thon this year?

I had to sign in here twice, then leave ivillage and come back to this board again, before I could post a reply, but I finally managed to repond. I hope posting gets easier.

I'll participate too, if logging on and posting gets easier. This is nonsense!

iVillage doesn't want us to post? That's how it feels.

I agree, Julia.

"iVillage doesn't want us to post? That's how it feels." Yes, and according to the Books and Writing main site, no one has posted on the boards since January or February.

The rules will be the same except if you want to post a bunch of reviews in one post to make it easier, I think that would be the best way. Otherwise, we'll never get any posted!

I'd like to participate; guidelines would be great?  Just read, post comments/reviews?  Totally agree with everyone regarding posting to this site--it's a chore :(

Roberta, I'm Brenda's co-CL and since I managed to sign in today, I thought I'd come check other boards while I can. ;) We usually start the read-a-thon mid-June (probably the Monday closest to the 15th) and go till Aug 31. :)

You covered the basics of the rules, Exblondie, not too much to it. Start mid-June, end Aug 31 and see how many books you can read and review! Reviews don't have to be long and involved (mine are usually quite short) but they give us an idea of how you liked the book, and often recommendations come from our read-a-thon "reporting." :)
