Hi all,

I was out walking at the weekend with my boyfriend and he was telling me some fascinating facts about the countryside/nature e.g. that you only get those old man's ear things on elderflower etc.

Hi Tich and welcome!

What a great idea; I'm sure he'll be thrilled that you remembered his comment about wanting to learn more! I'd suggest looking through the Outdoors & Nature section at Amazon or your local bookstore. At the Amazon site, on the left of the page, they have a lot of sub-categories you can explore. Field guides are always a good choice and I think you can even find regional books, so they might have something specific to your area.

Hope that helps...and maybe some of the ladies here will have more specific suggestions to share with you. Be sure to let us know how your search goes!

I was thinking regional field guides based on his interests as well. For instance, birds, animals, wildflowers, trees are some of the ones I own...

See if they make Petersen Guides in your area. It may be worth a trip to an independent bookstore, or an outdoors store/ museum to get good suggestions.
