I am working my way through The Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot.  I  have read about 5 of them so far and they are great.  My local book club meeting is Thursday and the theme is YA - so I have good for this time.

I just recently got the new James Patterson book - I Michael Bennet.  Picked up 3 books from the used book store yesterday  - 2 new authors for me.  An Unmentionable Murder by Kate Kingsbury, Bermuda Schwartz by Bob Morris, and Jamaica Me Dead also by Bob Morris.

I just finished The Paris Wife and really enjoyed it.  I'm in the middle of Secretariat: The Making of a Champion and I'm really enjoying it as well.

I haven't bought any new books, but my mom just gave me Roadside Crosses by Jeffery Deaver.

I just stopped reading After Life by Rhian Ellis. I'd read 221 pages in six days -- which is super slow for me-- and that was enough of that! It's an ARC, coming out this month or next (or last). (More of my thoughts elsewhere here.)

I'm about to start Black Heart by Holly Black that I got from the library, but it came out in April of this year.

On 7/24 I got What Came from the Stars by Gary Schmidt. It's an ARC that'll be out 9/2012. It looks like the last time I bought new books was in June.

I'm just about to start Lemon Meringue Pie Murder by Joanne Fluke.

I bought One Breath Away by Heather Gudenkauf at the airport the other day. I was checking my library holds and discovered that either I accidently erased it or I forgot to request A Beautiful Mystery by Louise Penny. I'm now about 130 or so on the wait list so I'm sure that I'll break down and buy it before my number comes up because it's one of my favourite series

I just finished The Witness by Nora Roberts and am about half done with 11th Hour by James Patterson. I love his books and how his chapters are so, so short. I always think that I'll just read one more quick chapter:smileyhappy:

I have bought a lot of books lately which is very unusual for me. I was given a $50 gift card to B&N for a thank you gift and have ad a hard time spending it. When I stopped at B&N the other day they had the new one by Laura Lippman there so I bought it, The Most Dangerous Thing.

I also got an email that my membership period with DoubleDay Book Club was about over and I haven't ordered any books to fulfill my commitment so I had to order books there too. I just ordered You Don't Want to Know by Lisa Jackson, What Happened to My Sister by Elizabeth Flock, The Virgin Cure by Ami McKay, and Haven by Kay Cooper.

Should keep me busy for a long, long time:smileyhappy:

I just started 1105 Yakima Street by Debbie Macomber and I've got Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris next in line.

I've curtailed the buying for a while, since my library finally started offering ebook downloads. Got a ton of catching up to do so I may as well take advantage of all those lovely free books just waiting for me! LOL

I just finished reading The Innocent by David Baldacci!  If you like mystery/suspense novels, you'll love this one!  It had me hooked from the very beginning.  Right now I'm reading Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks.

I finished up The Morning Watch by James Agee.  No more by him.  He writes books that make me think about different things, which I really like.  His writing style is so slow though.  I just can't fully enjoy his writings.

I also finished Love, Life and a Polar Bear Tatoo by Heather Wardell.  I had started this on the plane ride home from Washington.  This is an excellent book..  It was about a young couple whose marriage was on the rocks.  He is a carpenter who has volunteered to help build houses in a third world country for a month.  She is an assistant at an interior design company.  She gets a new project after her husband leaves and the client is the first man she fell in love with, who broke her heart.   All I can say is "what a tangled web we weave."

I'm off to the library tomorrow.  The Dog Stars by Peter Heller is in and I think I will pick up the next Odelia Grey book by Sue Ann Jaffarian, too.

I bought a book of ghost stories from the Gatlinburg, Tennessee area on our visit there.  I've also downloaded several more  e-books for my Nook., but I'm always doing that.

Happy Reading!

How are you liking it?  One of my favorite books of all time is Ride The Wind by Lucia St.Clair Robson. It is a 'fictional' account of the life of Comanches with Cynthia Ann Parker, Nocona, and their children including Quanah.
