Last night I started Mr. Churchill's Secretary by Susan Elia Macneal. I returned A Week in Winter to the  library yesterday and left without taking out a book. I'm trying to work on whittling down my bookshelves so we will see how long this challenge lasts.

Anyone else still having trouble signing in? It's still not working properly for me.

I'm reading "Sorry Please Thank You" - stories by Charles Yu.

I had to sign in twice to be able to respond, in spite of having checked the "keep me signed in" box.

I'm going to start reading Wench by Dolen Perkins-Valdez. I had never heard of it, but it caught my eye while wandering through the library. Apparently people who liked The Help will also like this book. I never read The Help, but I really enjoyed the movie so I figured I'd give this book a try. I also kept a record of what I read last year and I managed to read 20 books. My goal was 25, but 20 isn't bad considering I returned to school full time and that sucked up a lot of my pleasure reading time.

I did keep a record of how many books I read in 2012: 163.

I finished Mr. Penumbra's 24- Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan on 12/31/12. It's one of those novels that makes you happy to be a reader!

Currently reading What Came from the Stars by Gary Schmidt. Not loving it so far. The science fiction sub-plot is really lousy; the realistic fiction sub-plot is okay.

 Happy New Year,

I started keeping a record of my books but I didn't keep up with it. I also lost my reading challenge thread with the changes to the board so I'm not sure how many books I read this year.

I'm back to reading A Week in Winter by Maeve Binchy now that I'm back from vacation. I need to finish it because it's due in a couple of days.
