What are you reading this week?

Furthermore, what movies have you seen lately? Either in a theater or whatever? Do you recommend it/ them?

I stayed up way too late last night to finish How The Light Gets In by Louise Penny. I don't know how I'm going to wait a year to find out what's going to happen next.

Next up is Missing Mark by Julie Kramer.

I'm reading The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood. Last month when my daughter was visiting us, we saw The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie on TV. She loved it, and I enjoyed it just as much as when I first saw it many years ago.  The most recent movie: I saw (most of) The Hobbit on TV. It was good as an adventure movie, but doesn't follow the book very closely. I wonder what they'll do to the rest of the story in the other two movies in the series.

I'm reading and enjoying How The Light Gets In by Louise Penny.

I can't remember the last movie I saw in a theatre but I watched Still Life of TV last week. I would like to see both The Butler and Prisioners.

Further, are there movies you are looking forward to?

To answer my own questions I'm reading: Bridge of Birds by Barry Hughart for my real life bookclub Wednesday night. It's different, I've read 1/3 of it, but the characters aren't doing it for me, yet.

Also, I 'm reading A Fort of Nine Towers a memoir by Qais Akbar Omar, which is suprisingly to me, involving.

As for movies, I loved "The Butler" in a movie theater last week. I watched a dvd of "Defiance" yesterday and liked it a lot. I'm looking forward to watching the Hitchcock movies I've dvr'ed this month on TCM. I'd also like to see "Blue Jasmine," that's in movie theaters now.
