This book was about a 12 year old boy's spiritual revelation both while in church and in nature during the early morning hours of Good Friday. The setting is a catholic boarding school in the mountains of Tennessee.
I got through this short novel (120 pages), but almost shut the book without finishing it. This is the second book by James Agee I've read and I had the same experience with the first one. It's just his writing style I don't enjoy. Both books I read made me sit and think for a while. I like books like that. They come few and far between. I find the writing style ponderous and hard to get through.
