I so agree Ruth.  Prayers for the victims and our country.

My son and his wife are big marathon runners, she has run the Boston marathon, it's such a positive, healthy thing and the events are so upbeat, don't know how they will feel about running them now.   :(

Blech to the snowy, sleety and rainy weather! Karyn~Love the idea of a colorful throw to add that pop of color! ;) I am crocheting a baby girl blanket for a gift right now. I am crazy busy going through packing boxes...if you don't hear from me every few days send in the troops to find me. LOL!

Today we had a good church outing except for Ben insisting he needed different shoes to go out of the house. Brad promised him a trip for new ones after lunch - Tim had needed new ones and the only styles available had lights, so why not be fair and get Ben something similar if the selection worked out that way... He loves Spider-Man, so he now has light-up shoes with spiders on them! Brad's now working on rotisserie chicken supper and I should be getting to some writing eventually... I want to do it and yet I'm not motivated enough to start, tsk tsk. I could sort laundry and knit first... The things I'll do while avoiding what I should do. LOL

Okay, regular reply isn't working, so no paragraphs from me. Will try to condense what I wanted to write yesterday: Friday night I ended up finishing a miniseries I'd started weeks ago, then forgot about, tsk tsk. (Brad and I agreed to watch The Flight of the Phoenix together Sat night.) I also called my younger sister and chatted for a while, then did some knitting. We had a late start to our Saturday plans but got out before lunch to get Tim a backless booster seat. Along the way on a celebratory road trip, we ordered a cell phone for me. (Not in stock at the store, but they promised freebies and a discount for waiting till Monday's order. Along with the discount the provider is offering, it's going to be an inexpensive upgrade for me!) Then it was off to Dairy Queen for lunch and dessert. Ben was a bit testy once we got home, but he settled down and we had a quiet evening - probably just a bit tired with the busy day.

Hello...We have clouds, rain, sleet,..a 'Lovely' April day....Not...lol

Went to visit my folks...dad was crabby with me...(I think) and mom was more agitated....not a good visit...He is going in tomorrow for a PET scan on his lungs...so I am thinking that is upsetting him...which I do understand..but not my fault...so I came home depressed...and now will curl up with a book and relax...:)   Think Spring either missed us or is not coming...lol

Last night I started catching up on my April writing goals, so the words I managed must have drained my brain - when I came here to write something about our Thursday, I drew a blank, tsk tsk.

There was no playgroup because of illness, so after tutoring I took Ben for a walk to the thrift store to fill the gap in the morning where I'd planned playtime. (Good thing I didn't tell him about those plans and have him disappointed. He might be reluctant to get out of the house, but he does love the selection of toys at the group! I'm sure eventually he'll also think of it as time with friends...)

In the afternoon I did some cleaning and audio editing. After the boys' bedtime, we caught up on The Voice from earlier in the week when we'd been busy with plumbing issues in the evenings. Besides the writing, I also did a little knitting: Ben's slippers. I need new yarn for my own slippers because it all started breaking apart when I discovered errors Wednesday night and tried to start over. :( Wrong material, I'm assuming, so I'll go back to the store and look more closely this time. Until then, I'm back to a smaller project and easier yarn. ;) Blue for Ben, then yellow for Tim. I hope I can make it through four slippers, being a newcomer to this craft!

So far today: Bible study, trimming the dog's nails, washing the basement floor of some of the grime from the recent work down there, and laundry. I should get Ben moving after snacktime, go out to pick up tortillas for our burrito supper - we like plain ones and when we shopped on Tuesday there were only flavoured ones. We can check the box at the post office as well and then have a good appetite for lunch, probably chicken salad to use up Wednesday's rotisserie leftovers. (I'm getting a bit better about using meat leftovers for lunches so we eat less processed meat, which is supposed to be a small portion of the overall diet.)

Tonight I should have time to watch the original Flight of the Phoenix (have only seen the remake when it was in theatres) and either write letters/emails or knit!

We've had a mix of rain, cloud and sun for the past few days. Yesterday we got out for a walk in the morning while it was nice, then had rain an hour or so later. I guess that should be a lesson to get fresh air when we can. ;)

Good job with the projects and cleaning! I know what you mean about adding colour - our house has beige walls in living room, dining room and part of the kitchen. The rest of the house is off-white, except for my teeny bathroom with a robin's-egg blue for the top half of the walls! We plan on painting because there were some messy spots from the last owner's painting, but also to change up colours, a much lighter tan where it's beige and then colour in the bedrooms (probably also quite light, but something other than white).

Have a good weekend!
