We've kept our July thread going for a while, but I thought a fresh one might be nice. Bring us new prayer requests, update old ones and share praises as well!

I'm going to start with a praise regarding Tim's latest appointment with the pediatrician. Even before giving Tim a quick physical exam, the doctor said we were making progress and to keep up the good work. When he felt Tim's stomach after he'd asked me some intro questions, he was impressed and said it was "remarkable" progress. Yay!

We still need to continue the daily laxatives until the next appt in three months. I admit there's some disappointment that this will go on for a long time, but the encouragement and compliments from the doc definitely helped. I pray there's no lasting dependence on laxatives, since there's a warning about that on one of the boxes. (He takes two different kinds of medication, one with breakfast and one with lunch.) And it's true that this is definitely helping finish up potty training, since he's learning the signals his body gives him about getting to the bathroom pronto!

Other praises:

- Ben's vocabulary is growing well, though for most words he's just got the beginning sound (and in that he's just a little behind Tim, the late talker). And I've learned to give a short daily nap in order to have a decent wake-up call - Ben is definitely a morning person like me!

- My mum had vertigo problems starting in late spring, but after a CT scan, the doctors determined she has inflammation in her inner ear. Definitely a better prognosis than mini-strokes as they'd feared. Whew! I think she'll be on medication and have stability exercises. (Must research online because the doc didn't give Mum a lot of info at the time, tsk tsk.)

Woohoo for your praises! So glad to hear your mom's prognosis!

I would like to ask for prayer for my dh. He is on the night shift and working long hours. Please pray for his safety and protection on the road and for him to get restful sleep that makes him feel refreshed. Thanks so much!

I've only had brief experience with night shifts myself, but FIL and Sis #2 both work a mix of days and nights, which sounds awful. I'll be praying for your hubby!

I'll be praying for your dh. I know how scary it is to have them driving to work on only a few hours of sleep to work a double shift.

My older ds, Tim was laid off at the end of July. Please pray that some opportunity comes available for him and for him to find Jesus.

Thank you!

If I could get some prayers and good thoughts for my sister, I would appreciate it greatly.

What a scary situation. I had an aunt and a grandmother both with breast cancer, so I fully understand the concern. Praying for your sister!
