Will you be donating to any charities this holiday season? We always volunteer at our local food bank, helping collect, organize and distribute goods to needy families in our area. This year, DS's art class has started a toy drive, too and he's really excited about being involved in that.

I hadn't thought about it yet, but we should probably do something for the food bank, especially since I plan to save money this year by making homemade ornaments as gifts and not participating in the two card exchanges that cost me a ton of postage last year.

I guess I think of the food bank first because my oldest sister has gone through tough times before and had a Christmas hamper delivered at least one year. Giving back sounds like a great way to be thankful that she's doing well now. :)

I also have toddler clothes to donate and I've been having trouble finding somewhere that needs them! I'm going to check with the women's shelter because this is a time of year kids definitely need good clothes that fit.

We do donate during the holidays. We usually go through both BJ's and our church and buy gifts for children in need. We like to try to make other kids as happy as we make our own.

I also have some toys here that my kids have received as gifts. I never did end up opening them because they get so much from us and family members. I am thinking of donating them to a toy drive or something.

The boys schools always do food drives & I've already sent stuff in yesterday. Our church is an inner-city church, with a lot of homeless attending, especially on Wednesday nights when we serve up a delicious dinner each week. We have a food bank & used to have a clothing closet, too. I had a few coats in the car to take last night, but DH decided to take the other vehicle & I forgot to get them out. Last year our youth group helped wrap gifts for a Christian biker ministry toy drive & we donated to that. I'm sure we will do something this year, just not sure what yet.

Yes, for the next 3 weeks we will bring canned food to AWANA. Then, we usually give to Toys for Tots and maybe Angel Tree (for kids who's parents are in prison).

Our church has done Angel Tree in the past. I'm not sure who we are helping this year.
