Congrats to Karyn, our first winner of 2013! Anyone else besides me forget it was the last night of the month? ;)

Here's your cool blinkie, Karyn. (If you're still having issues setting your preferences, send me a private message (or email becca_carter@yahoo.ca) and I'll see if I can walk you through it. I'm finally error-free on that side of things, so I want to help everyone out if they need it!)

Now on to February! Whoever posts last before midnight Eastern on the 28th will be our next winner!

I ended up keeping it and finishing it last night. I usually don't like to do that to the next person on the list to receive the DVD, but there is only 5 episodes in a series, so we were able to finish them up quickly. Now to go by and return it today. Sounds like a great day! yay for playing with no fighting and getting a little exercise in. I need to start doing bursts of it throughout the day!

Mostly quiet Friday so far. I took Ben to playgroup (just down the street at the elementary school Tim attends) and now we're having a late lunch. We used up more onions this week than I anticipated on grocery day, so we'll zip out to the closest grocery store sometime this afternoon, then it's chicken fajitas for supper!

I'm planning on audio editing for the church this evening, maybe knitting in the times where I'm just listening for the next spot to trim the file. I do have an episode of "Person of Interest" to rewatch since my brain couldn't follow it till the last 15 mins or so. I set it to Protect on the PVR so I can watch again knowing better what's happening!

Will you sign out the DVD again soon? That would be my plan. I thought about getting something to watch from my library's collection yesterday, but I usually don't have time in the week-long loan to watch a whole season and sometimes don't even get to a movie (tsk tsk).

This morning worked out almost the same as yesterday - Bible study before breakfast, cleaning before lunch. I had tutoring, too, and that went well. I'm glad I found an online tutorial that seems to be working well for my "student" and we walk through it together. I did more cleaning in the afternoon and a little exercise too. It was especially nice that the boys played without fighting for a good length of time! :)

I can't believe it is Thursday already! The week is flown by! I need to make a stop into the library. Holds to pick up and things to return. I am a bit sad that I didn't get to watch the third season of Land Girls before I have to return it. Oh well, I will just place it on hold again! I have the first disc for Call the Midwife. I am really interested in the BBC shows lately. I need to pop in the grocery store too and get DH a few things for his lunch tonight. We are out of fresh produce. Well I am off to start the day! Laundry, homeschool and tidying is calling to me! Have a great day!!!!

Today was pretty productive. Up too early with the boys, but that gave me time to do my Bible studies before breakfast. Then I had lots of time for catch-up cleaning before lunch.

I took Ben to an afternoon playgroup and then did a little baking once school was out. Also got our taxes filed and made spaghetti supper. Yum yum!

So far tonight is reading and TV. Might get some knitting done, too - I took it with me to playgroup and my rib stitch is coming along well. :)

I've read a bunch lately, hence the book-review catch-up yesterday and today. Also finally remembered to do a some online research to see if a book lent to me is going to be my kind of thing - I'd seen the miniseries "Pillars of the Earth" and didn't think I'd want to read the book, but I was interested when someone at church told me about historical novels. Her family likes the author, so she thought it might be a good recommendation. I've had the huge book in my room for a few weeks and now I'm going to hand it back. I'm sure I'll be asked if I liked it, so I'll just explain that I didn't get to it right away and then wanted to avoid the nasty parts of the writing. Since we've been talking in two Bible study groups about inappropriate entertainment affecting our spiritual lives, I know she'll understand. :)

So far we're mostly quiet at home today. Yesterday we got out for groceries after lunch, so that's done for the week and today's preschool time was cancelled (due to new flooring going in the classroom). I started out the day a bit grumpy and wanted to stick close to home for some Bible study (which always soothes and cheers me). Now that it's done and I've started cleaning and organising a bit, I'm feeling much better and will suggest a quick library trip while Tim's at school. Probably just as well I wasn't fit for socialising ;) 'cause the cool air brings out Ben's cough and now he's got the sniffles too!

I started a reply to you yesterday, Angie, and forgot to post it. *Blushing* Let's see if I remember this time. ;)

Sunday was a better day overall. I resolved to just pick up a memory card for the photo frame someday soon, one that will be for just that purpose. Never mind trying to figure out copying pictures directly to the frame, though I know it must be possible somehow.

As for the knitting, I watched some videos and it seemed to click in my mind, but I wasn't very consistent, forgetting how many stitches I'd knitted or purled rather than having a nice pattern down the rows. I took it out and started casting on again, but still need to get back to it. I think I may watch the video that was particularly helpful, then start my first row. ;)

I hope it is a better day on all fronts, Becca!! I love baking cakes and bread. Both smell wonderful! I have had to cut down on the baking here since DH has diabetes and all that isn't the best for him. What a weekend....we had our 1 1/2 year old granddaughter all weekend...whew they are very busy at that age...she is so much fun though...she is starting to say more and more words. Too precious! I am looking forward to having down time this evening. May snuggle down in the blankets (it is very cold and blustery out today) this evening with my book. Hope everyone has had a great weekend!

Quiet day here watching movies and keeping the kids in because of a cold. Having some issues learning a rib stitch, though, and I was also frustrated with attempts to get a digital photo frame displaying pictures from its internal memory. Hopefully tomorrow will be full of success on both fronts! :)
