Congrats to Karyn, our first winner of 2013! Anyone else besides me forget it was the last night of the month? ;)

Here's your cool blinkie, Karyn. (If you're still having issues setting your preferences, send me a private message (or email becca_carter@yahoo.ca) and I'll see if I can walk you through it. I'm finally error-free on that side of things, so I want to help everyone out if they need it!)

Now on to February! Whoever posts last before midnight Eastern on the 28th will be our next winner!

Hope everyone had a great Thursday! I took things easy as much as possible because Ben's been sleeping poorly due to his cold. He was very quiet yesterday, didn't eat much and again sent himself for an afternoon nap. Thankfully, he's found his appetite again (at 2:30 this morning, yikes!) and is full of energy today.

I started out really slow today due to the interrupted sleep this week, but I'm making bread today (using the bread machine to mix and start the rising process) and also did my Bible studies. (One online and one for church, plus I'm using a devotional Bible, so I start with that first. Doesn't take as long as I thought, though some mornings my brain moves slower than others or I'm wordy when I write in my study book. ;) )

The dough will need more time to rise once the machine's done, so I'm waiting for the transfer to the warm oven, then will take Ben out to move a bit of snow. Breaking it up helps with the melting process and then it feels like we're doing something to bring spring closer. LOL Also could use the fresh air and a little exercise!

I'm making stuffed peppers for supper, so I'll probably make the filling after lunch (fettucini leftovers from last night's takeout, yum yum). Also have laundry to sort, kitchen clean-up to start and I'll see if we're close to having our paperwork in order for tax time. (The tax return will probably be an evening task just to be sure I don't misplace anything while the boys are awake and needing my attention. I started it as soon as the software arrived almost a month ago, so it's been a gradual process and then I'll just need to review it before the moment of filing online!)

That's why I like sharing with baking, Karyn. I eat far less of the things that my body does better without, and there's also the satisfaction of making others happy with the treats. :)

I was thinking of making heart-shaped shortbread cookies for Valentine's Day, so I better check the recipe and see how long the dough needs to chill. Might prepare it early tomorrow morning and then bake the cookies around noon. (I had intended on doing it sometime this week and having them ahead of the actual day, but it snuck up on me!) Still need to decide on supper - I had forgotten the special day when I made my meal plan but we usually do takeout, anyway. The hard part is deciding where. I kinda want Italian and already have the menu, so I'll check with Hubby when he's back from squash games this evening.

I'm glad the roofing job was done quickly. That's super-speed! :)

They got the roof all done and cleaned up in one day!  Looks good.

Sunny and 50's today, hope to get my little furkid out for a walk.  Going to the chiropractor this afternoon.

Lots of cleaning and sorting to do at home.

Hope to make Valentine's cake today...will share with my mom and as many others as I can find...then am going to try and cut way down on sugar consumption around here.

Today was preschool plus grocery day (since we were otherwise busy yesterday, the usual grocery day). I made pasta salad for supper and then had Bible study at church.

Tomorrow the car gets an overdue oil change and I will hopefully get some good cleaning done too. Of course, Ben hasn't been feeling well, so if he needs more attention, I'll gladly give up the cleaning. ;)

I hope the roofing job is a quick one so you're not dealing with the noise long. Nice to have the cost covered! :)

Busy day here. Lots of laundry to do....my how it piles up.....taking our little dog to the groomer (he definitely needs his fluff fixed, lol), doing some basic cleaning, volunteering at the horse farm and maybe a stop into Wal-mart. Hope you are having a great day!

We're getting a new roof today!  Never heard of roofing in the winter, but we have a couple of nice days, and got a better price.  I'm thankful the insurance co is paying for it.  Awful noisy here!
