I need to look up Bernat's abbreviations so I can make a crochet dishcloth with pattern this time. If I can learn to read a pattern, I may make a hat or two before I tackle learning to knit! I suspect I might find the two needles more natural than one...
My car gas guage does the same thing --- that 1/4 tank reading is sooo wrong!
I had a kit from Candamar called "Sewing with Mama" which I've been plugging away at since August! I've learned to hate it (the colors that they used do NOT resemble the kit photo at all and I find it a little muddy...). Anyway, I managed to FINISH it! YAY! Hate it but's it's done and now I can move on! Here's a pic:
I found that I CAN crochet but not well. My Gran tried to teach me when I was nine or so and gave up in frustration! But a roomie taught me to knit in college and I'm reasonably proficient at it --- I just don't do it much any more. So I have to pull out the books to relearn things like casting on and all...
Nice job, Carol!

It's about maids in the 60's right before the civil rights movement. It tells their story. Excellent book, and they did a good job of the movie.
