I suppose I used a strange word for talking about cleaning, but I do prefer scrubbing to mopping when it's linoleum. Most floor cleansers just add gunk to the floor, but scrubbing with dish soap and water does wonders. Haven't figured out the trick to cheap laminate - mine always shows the dog paw prints. At least the Swiffer Wet picks up more dirt than just sweeping.

Lucky duck with the trail near your house. At our last place, we were next to the train tracks and there was a trail running by them that I liked. My parents have trails starting at the top of their street and going up the mountain.

I saw that Words with Friends is on Facebook. I'm almost afraid to try it and become addicted to another online game. ;)

1. Do you own any pets?

Two dogs -- Sparkle, a long haired, miniature dachshund & Okie-Yokie, a 14 yo pound puppy.

2. When it's time to clean your floors, do you prefer mopping or scrubbing?

Neither, I hate doing the floors!!

I love the name Okie-Yokie! :) I grew up with cats: Spooky (so named because she was born around Halloween) and her son, originally named Clyde by the neighbours but renamed Moretoes (since he was a polydactyl) when he came back to live with us. We often used the nicknames Pooky and Toe-toes. I think the name Okie-Yokie fits right in with theirs. ;)

I haven't heard of travertine, but I do know about linoleum getting grungy. Apparently most floor cleaners are awful on lino, adding a layer of residue rather than cleaning - hence my preference for dish soap, water and scrubbing! I hope you'll love your new floor. :)

Bummer on not having any good trails. We like hiking trails but most of them require driving a ways, especially since our move a couple years ago. Hopefully the boys will like that sort of thing as they grow - I want to introduce them to at least a couple trails from my childhood and others Hubby took me on before the boys were born.

Word games are supposed to be great for keeping the brain active. I've been liking hidden object games a lot lately, but I should also get back to playing word and number games on my DS. Handy and good for the mind! :)

Lije was when we got Okie & he got to name him. He wanted a red, black, brown, yellow & white dog named Okie-yokie, but got a plain reddish-orange Okie-Yokie, instead. Sparkle is Caleb's dog, he got her when he was 8. He named everything "Sparky", all of the lizards & bugs he caught were "Sparky". I convinced him Sparky sounded like a boy & Sparkle was a good name for a girl & a Christmas present, with Sparky as a nickname.
