Getting ready for Easter!

So there's candy to buy and I'll probably get new baskets this year so the boys have the same size, but that's just the secular side of the holiday. I need to start thinking about what to read and watch to prepare me for the spiritual side of Easter!

Any suggestions?

I might buy some more of those plastic eggs this year, just to be sure we have enough.

I may have seen that Veggie Tales movie once upon a time. :)

I bought the rest of the things I needed for coloring eggs, plastic eggs, and all the fixins for Easter dinner. I also bought the stuff I need for the bunny cake. Julia loves making it, so it will probably be a yearly tradition. :)

I don't recall any references to Palm Sunday at our last service. Tsk tsk! ;) I think it would be cool if it were mostly singing that day. Lots of Hosanna songs. :)

I was only able to find An Easter Carol, but the boys seemed to like it. They watched it yesterday morning and I saw it again last night. I didn't realise at first that Rebecca St. James was the angel Hope, but when she sang, I had to check IMDB for the familiar voice! (I've seen that show once before, in a combined kids/adult Easter service one year.)

One of these years I'd like to see a miniseries that I remember seeing on TV back in the late '80's. It was just named Jesus of Nazareth and I remember it had Ernest Borgnine (the centurion, I think) and Anne Bancroft (Mary) among other famous names at the time. Long, but a really good telling of Jesus' life, death and resurrection. :) Turns out it was from '77, so I guess they used that one for many years... ;)
