Ruth, I got a Droid phone and was SO excited that it had a Kindle app. When I am stuck somewhere waiting for the kids, or my parents or something, I read on it. I love it!!! I used to think I'd hate a Kindle, but I am sure I would love it. Maybe someday....
My phone is one of the "oldies" as far as cells go these days because it doesn't have a keyboard or camera... I would probably love apps like Kindle and Nook so I could have a smaller reader for dr's offices and other on-the-go times.
Loving my Nook after about 8 months of having it but I've collected so many free and discounted books I hardly know where to start. ;) When the latest software update included shelves to organise books, the first thing I did was create a TBR so I can start browsing my two libraries (B&N books plus the other ebooks I've picked up online in different formats) and have a clue what to read next!
I just reorganised my bookshelves and have to say that paper copies look much nicer for displaying, but I wouldn't have enough room for all the ebooks I've collected, so I'm happy to have both collections. ;)
I never buy books any more. My library is part of a huge system, and can always find the book I'm looking for. There is no wait period, but if somebody from the library also requests it, they take priority over me. But that has never happened to me.
I have a droid also, but don't want the kindle app. I am a big fan of books :)
