I am having a hard time getting use to this new format. I have been away for a few days because I didn't want to learn more about this program. But I am praying that it gets better.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. I suspect other folks are feeling the same way and I hope that iVillage withdrawal brings 'em back. ;) Meanwhile, hope the techs attack any glitches and work with suggestions to move things along more smoothly.

I'll try to pop in on Facebook often to say Hi. :)

I'm right there with you Jen. I strongly dislike the new format, would like to know who's bright idea it was!

I can't even figure out how to change my siggie.

I get so frustrated and just sign off ivillage. This may actually drive me to FB. lol

Hi Jen....well I like how easy it is to change font and color of a post...but the rest is so fustrating....right now I just don't have the time to figure it out...and it gives me a headache....It seems so impersonal...so...guess I'll go read...lol...Hugs, Ruth

Karyn, here's how to change your siggy:

Click Edit Your Preferences on the right side of the board, under the heading Quick Links. The first options page it shows you has a box (second from the bottom) to enter your siggy code (which you can make at Online HTML Editor). Then hit Save Changes and you're done!

Let me know if I can help you with anything else. :)

Ruth, you're going to have lots of reviews to post when you conquer the new format. ;) Hope your books are great reads!

Let me know if there's anything I can help you with - this design is similar to the one at Katie MacAlister's site, so I've got a headstart and would love to narrow the gap of knowledge! :)

Thanks Becca. So I have to delete all of my old siggie first? I wanted to delete just part of it but can't read the code enough to know which part is which.
There's also no centering?
Wait, let me play around with it and I'll get back to you.
Thanks again. :)

The new system seems to be pickier with HTML code than the old one. On the preview site the CLs were finding much of their old siggy code didn't work, but I didn't have trouble with mine after I "cleaned" it up. Let me know if you want me to try that with yours.

I agree -- I really dislike this new format.

I'm thinking the board upgrades being a good or bad thing is a matter of perspective - for me, the old board design was broken in a few ways. It was behind the times, using old technology and leaving Firefox users out in the cold for text formatting. The mandatory preview made posting slow and often annoying. And having to log in with one name for the boards I lead and then another for the rest of iVillage was a pain. It actually kept me from regularly hanging out at other boards.

That said, I realise that I've had a headstart with the new design because it's similar to other message boards I've been using for a few years. There are some specific things I need to learn and get used to, but I'm not starting at the beginning like most iVillagers.

That's why I'm so eager to help folks adjust - I've got the knowledge and I want to share so that we're all back posting like crazy and enjoying ourselves at our fave online hang-out.

So, let me know any way I can help you. I'm here and very willing to answer all questions and find ways to make the new design work well for everyone.

Hugs!
