Having A Hard Time

I am having a hard time getting use to this new format. I have been away for a few days because I didn't want to learn more about this program. But I am praying that it gets better.

Becca -

Thank you so much for jumping right in and helping those who have question out. Because to me most of this is foreign and I am still trying to figure everything out. So I greatly appreciate it and I am sure the other appreciate it as well.

What's a friend for if not to help? :)

I appreciate your patience and willngness to share knowledge.
I can tell I'm getting more used to the new format and I'm sure will get better at getting around.
But I still think it's more time consuming and complicated than it was before, which makes me sadly want to drop some of my favorite boards because it's now more of a burden to check several boards.
I wish they could have improved the problems without changing so many of the good things.

I totally agree about time consuming & complicated & wanting to drop some boards...sad & frustrating!

Karyn, JaieLyn and anyone else frustrated,

What's top of the list for annoyances so far? Maybe I can point you to a solution! :)

For me, the automatic email subscription needed to be adjusted to a daily email. Immediate notification would have driven me crazy. LOL I may later decide I don't want to be notified about every post - since I didn't choose it in the old format - but for now, one email each day works for me. (And for the times I'm obsessively checking for replies like I do with Facebook ;) I can check my subscriptions through the Settings page. No email needed!)

Top on my list of annoyances is that I can't tell from the email or from looking at the replies, who is replying to whom.

I'm also still looking for some boards. After typing in the top space for message boards I still haven't found. I'm now keeping the boards I find on my own favorites.

Good idea about the daily email. I'll check that box too.

Thanks again Becca. :)

Karyn,

Shoot, the lack of reply-to is something that can't be customised, so I'm no help! ;) I'm hoping that folks put that in their feedback. In the meantime, everyone needs to get used to quoting or putting a person's name in the message.

I assumed that boards were being redirected with no problems. I know some have moved, like ours, to new categories. As always, let us know if we can help! :)

I love the way you can easily format in Firefox now, and I finally figured out that is tells you how many NEW posts there are instead of how many total. I am glad that it jumps right to the new posts, I'm not sure if that is something I did, or if it's something that is automatic.

Brenda, I think you probably checked a box for jumping to the unread posts because other folks have complained about scrolling through threads until they knew about that setting.

I found that if you're in a folder from the View More link, you can get to the last post read by clicking on the time/date it gives for that most recent post. You can't get that from the main page for a thread with 0 new posts, so though I like the look of the main page, if I want to post something new in the DYK thread, it's probably best to go to that other view. LOL It's handy to have the choice.

I've been making use of Quick Reply, but I do love the formatting choices. I especially like making my text a certain shade of blue. Silly me! ;)
