Congrats to Angie, who won for December! Good work! (It pays to check in before going out to celebrate, hee hee.)

And so begins our chatty thread for January 2013! (Gotta type and write it to get used to the new digit at the end.) Whoever posts last before midnight Eastern on January 31st is our next winner.

Now chat away! :)

Ruth~glad your parents are settling in at their new place. Hope your son and grands were able to visit. Becca~So sorry to hear about the uninvited virus that came to your house. Cindy~So glad to hear that Julia's lungs are clear. Hope the potty training process continues to move forward. As for us.....we settled on my family home yesterday....yay! Now the fun of getting things completed at our rental really kicks into gear. We have been enjoying the last few warm days....windows open in January?....I love it. The kiddos have been in reading moods which I would never discourage. ;) We also spent some time at the horse rescue. Busy days....but I wouldn't trade them.

Hooray for a delay that lets you get computer time! ;) Sometimes cancellations or late starts make for more relaxed days. That happened a couple weeks ago for preschool and then today was like a playgroup since one teacher was away. The change wasn't a bad thing to me. :)

Popping in to say hi.  I don't have a lot of computer time during the week to pop in here.  Today both the kid's schools have a 1 hour delay, so I had some extra time.  :)

The newest here..Julia is feeling good, and I think her lungs are clear.  We will be having the heating vents all cleared out next week, hopefully that will help with the allergies.  We will know more on Monday when she goes back for a recheck and her yearly physical.   JJ is potty training.  It is going ok.  Better then I thought he would do considering his developmental delays.  I don't want to rush the process, so I'm hoping he can be trained by summer.  That gives him a lot of time.

Hubby is feeling better today, not tip-top but closer to normal. :) Staying home from church this morning just in case we might pass on the nasty bug to others, especially when we seem to have lots of young kids and enough older folks that would be the folks worst affected...

I'm thinking of zipping out this afternoon for fresh produce and a rotisserie chicken for a yummy but light supper. I can take Ben for the rest of the grocery shopping tomorrow as we usually do on Mondays.

The boys were all about building with Legos earlier and now they've been playing pirates - Tim made it to the birthday party yesterday afternoon and it was pirate-themed. :) Very cute!

Looks like it's a short but nasty bug for Hubby. Hopefully he can keep something down and rest up before the work week begins. Not the way to spend a weekend, but maybe he won't miss any paying hours. ;)

Tim had a birthday party to attend this afternoon, but I could tell Ben was far too tired for that. I took him along for the car ride so I could get him to nap, and it worked. It would be nice if he also slept till a normal hour tomorrow morning!

Lots of reading done today, enjoying The Hobbit. :)

Getting my folks settled into their new place...loving not being so responsible for their well being...They are getting care, meals, and help...so good!!

Has been very very cold here the last week or so...ready for a warm up!!

Still getting my folk's old place cleaned out...and their new place situated!!  But it is coming!

Feeling much better today except for less sleep last night than required. Now Hubby's the one who's sick. :( I'm wondering if the boys will escape this bug or if they'll be next in a day or two.

Getting ready for Tim's schoolday was a bit easier than usual - Hubby dealt with the boys' breakfast and prepared lunch before he left for work, so I had a bit of free time for Bible study. I liked it! ;)

I watched some of a Jane Austen miniseries this morning while sitting down to ease a little backache. Also had time to take care of computer-related tasks I tend to put off. Uploading photos to my website, catching up on a book review, etc. It might be a good idea if I try for slower-paced days once I'm feeling better - I've been enjoying myself more than expected for someone who's sick... ;)

I had worse stomach pain last night and saw a doctor this afternoon. Just a virus, it appears. I can live with that, just have to take it easy and stick with simple foods for a bit until my stomach is ready for regular foods. That also puts me off kitchen duty. ;) ;)
