Congrats to Angie, who won for December! Good work! (It pays to check in before going out to celebrate, hee hee.)

And so begins our chatty thread for January 2013! (Gotta type and write it to get used to the new digit at the end.) Whoever posts last before midnight Eastern on January 31st is our next winner.

Now chat away! :)

It's been a good day here, but Ben is definitely needing some quiet time alone - too much fighting happening since snack ended and playtime began. He fights the idea of a nap pretty hard, so I didn't call it that at all, just told him he needs to take some time alone in his room. ;) Meanwhile I should sort the laundry before I make some chicken to go with the scalloped potatoes currently baking. (Smells so good!)

Our day has had an ebb and flow to it. We got some things done and hopefully will have some down time this evening. Thanks for the reminder about laundry...I need to go hang up a load of clothes on our indoor line. Scalloped potatoes sound delicious. I need to go figure out what I am going to have for dinner. :)

An indoor clothesline would be nice! Our dryer gets a regular workout. ;) Hope you had a yummy dinner! I'll heat up leftover potatoes (which turned out great) and make sloppy joes too.

I did some extra kitchen cleaning after the boys went to bed last night - Hubby was off on a gaming night, so I loaded up some Ravi Zacharias podcasts and put soapy water to good use. :) Before bed I downloaded more podcasts for future cleaning sprees ;) and watched a few MovieBob reviews online.

Back to the weekday routine yesterday, with an addition to the busyness - a book club of church ladies who are all reading Learn the Bible in 24 Hours. It was fun to chat with them about the contents of a couple chapters, and Ben had a boy to play with from his Sunday school class. :)

Today, preschool was cancelled, so we ran a couple errands and Ben decided to take a short car nap before going to a drop-in playgroup at Tim's school. After lunch I prepared apple pie bread, which will hopefully be done soon. It needs to cool and set before slicing, so it's a loaf that takes quite a bit of time, but should be really yummy if memory serves. (I don't think I had my apple slicer and food processor when I made it previously, so it took even longer and it makes sense that I would forget all about that recipe until today...)

I'm listening to Saturday's Message Amped show (hooray for Sirius On Demand!) and should get started on the Christmas Thank You notes. (Time is flying this month!) Then I'm making Italian Ground Beef for supper, a browned-beef veggie mix. :)

Ben was sick at suppertime two days in a row. No other signs of sickness and we can't think of anything he might have eaten that would cause him to be sick while no one else is. Hopefully there won't be a repeat tomorrow.

Not much happening on my Wednesday to-do list besides cleaning and organising. I did get started on the BOTM this evening. :)

Hubby's going to take the dog to the vet tomorrow - he's favouring one leg and there's also a bump on his back. Poor doggy!

We have had four days of rain! Snow is in the forecast for later. I hope so, my kiddos are super excited! Today I need to go to the library to get the BOTM, do some laundry and organizing. We are also going to the horse farm later to volunteer. Busy day...hopefully we will be able to relax this evening with a movie. Hope everyone is having a great day!

The funny thing about the sloppy joe meal was that I forgot to buy fresh buns and frozen ones usually end up a bit dry. Hubby had a bun the first time, then used small tortillas for snack leftovers. Usually he won't touch the leftovers, so I think we have a new winning dish: sloppy tortillas. ;) ;)
