Congrats to Angie, who won for December! Good work! (It pays to check in before going out to celebrate, hee hee.)

And so begins our chatty thread for January 2013! (Gotta type and write it to get used to the new digit at the end.) Whoever posts last before midnight Eastern on January 31st is our next winner.

Now chat away! :)

I went with easily digestible foods for breakfast, but have let Ben choose hot dog and cheese for an early lunch. I hope it sits well in his stomach, and I'll offer crackers or toast if he needs a snack later. Maybe we can get him through suppertime tonight without a mess!

I hope you get the snow your kids want! It's been cold here (well, fairly cold for this area, not the lowest it's ever gone) but no snow for days. Should start to warm up tomorrow and might even rain next week. (I hope that's not followed by a lot of cold - it's icy enough on sidewalks without more...)

I usually do kitchen clean-up early on Thursday so everything's looking good when the pastor's wife comes over for computer tutoring. I know she wouldn't care about any mess - she'd just think I'm busy with the kids, and would be right! - but it's for my benefit that I keep it up. ;) Open layouts encourage cleanliness and less clutter...

I also had laundry started early, including two blankets (and might get a third in after the regular load of the day) and now there's sauce simmering/stewing in the crockpot for tortellini tonight. (Yum yum!) I did a bunch of organising yesterday, so I should focus on the laminate floors first today. They need more than sweeping after I walked through the house with dirty boots a day or two ago, tsk tsk. ;)

With all of that cleaning, though, I must make an effort to listen closely for kids wanting to play games or needing Mum's attention - I've been reducing some of my computer time during the week so that I could have opportunities to relax more with the kids, but if I just turn to cleaning instead of the computer, I'm not getting anywhere with that particular goal.

I stayed up late last night reading the BOTM - should have known the suspense novel would tempt me to skip some sleep - but I'm doing okay today. I did up the caffeine intake with a (large-ish, but still individual) bottle of Coke Zero rather my usual morning tea. Will see if that helps me maintain a useful energy level and I should go with my normal bedtime tonight despite the good book. ;)

I was tired this morning, maybe feeling the effects of less sleep Wednesday night? I decided to relax and went with reading and tea rather than napping. :)

I've done a bit of light cleaning since lunch, plus we got to the post office. I do want to clean the bathroom today, but I'm not sure when. I still feel like taking it easy.

It should be warming up starting tomorrow, so I'm hoping for some outside time with the boys, maybe a walk somewhere. Wonder if it'll be good enough weather for car washing...

It hasn't warmed up much, still feels quite chilly but it's nice to see the sun. :)

I'm looking forward to book club tomorrow morning, hopefully off to buy a few groceries first. Since we got our takeout from the restaurant that gives higher-quality but lower-quantity food (since the closer place was closed for the week) it looks like I'll be making shepherd's pie as planned for tomorrow night's supper. Should be yummy! :)

Good morning ladies.  Sorry I haven't been around, but my computer time isn't much these days.  I love my life, it's just a bit busy at time.  :)  We are still trying to get Julia's lungs clear, and she still has a stubborn ear infection that won't go away.  She starts new medicine today that will hopefully help.  JJ is feeling better.  I think he would have been better awhile ago if I could get him to spit out after coughing.  Undecided

As for me, I am going to try to fall in love with the gym again.  I used to love going to work out, now I dread it like crazy.  It just goes to show good habits can be forgotten so quickly.  So off I go to start a busy day.  Have a good one everybody!

Hi Cindy! Hope you fall in love with the gym again quickly! I need to fall in love with being more active myself. Ugh....where to fit that in the day. I can't seem to get up any earlier. Maybe I just need to motivate more in the morning instead of lingering with another cup of coffee. ;) Praying for Julia's lungs to clear!

Good Morning everyone! It is a brisk 22 degrees here and feels like 4! We will have the wood stove and pellet stove working hard this week. If it is chilly in here in the evenings, I plan on working on a big afghan I need to finish. Nothing like accomplishing something and being warm & toasty at the same time! I also started the BOTM last night! Hope you are having a great day!

Cindy, hope your schedule allows for gym time and you enjoy it again. I know what that's like, not enough walking in my days lately.
