Congrats to Angie, who won for December! Good work! (It pays to check in before going out to celebrate, hee hee.)

And so begins our chatty thread for January 2013! (Gotta type and write it to get used to the new digit at the end.) Whoever posts last before midnight Eastern on January 31st is our next winner.
Now chat away! :)

I did a little research online last night and ended up taking apart my practice knitting to avoid the careless added stitches in practically every row. I had a similar problem when trying crochet but hadn't checked to see what was causing it. This time I'm trying to be smarter about learning a new skill. ;)
I'm not sure if my leftover yarn will be enough to make a decent-sized kitchen cloth or pot holder, but I might as well make sure I've got knit stitch down before tackling purl. Thank goodness for YouTube videos, I say!
I need to do some catch-up reading today because I stuck with computer activities and knitting yesterday, never getting my book off the nightstand to read (tsk tsk). I'm tired this morning, so if Ben refuses an offer to go to playgroup this morning, I may just curl up with my book and some tea to relax. :)
The Florida trip sounds like a lot of fun. I'm glad you were able to get away and that your back interfere with the kayaking opportunity. :)
I hope the busyness helps with the adjustment to having your son so far away again. Are you going to use his residence in Hawaii as an excuse for a vacation there? ;)
I'm so glad your daughter doesn't need surgery for her injury and you learned the proper treatment in time!
Happy reading and knitting!
Hi all. Sorry I've been MIA lately. Dh and I just got back from a quick 4 day trip to Florida to check out the little house where his parents are now wintering. Nice temps there, 80 and sunny. Dh and I kayaked which was great fun, went to the beach, and went to an outdoor festival. The rest of the time I sat outside and read. :)
Yesterday my ds flew back to Hawaii after spending almost 2 months at home so have been helping him get ready for his trip. Now that I've cried, he's so many miles away, I'm ready to get busy, lol.
My daughter is leaving today to visit a friend 2.5 hours away at college for the weekend. I'm trying to finish knitting her scarf before she leaves this afternoon.
I'm still going to the chiropractor 2x a week, my back is much better, slowly improving.
My dd now goes too, her leg was hurting her, turns out she has a herniated disc...and had been playing volleyball on it! The sports Dr had diagnosed tight hamstrings. My Dr said if it had burst we would be talking surgery.
I've been reading a lot but way behind on my reviews here. Hope to read back and catch up on all your news and posts here!
