Wow, the year seems to be passing very quickly! It's hard to believe my oldest has only two months left in his first year of school. And about this time next year, we'll be getting ready for kindergarten orientation with the younger one.

How's the weather in your area? Any plans for the month? Chat it up, folks! :)

Ben's our second experience with speech therapy, so it's a bit strange to have it going so well at such an early point - Tim saw the same therapist for about two years (with breaks at certain points, but usually shorter ones than the two months for Ben).

Hope you had a good time at the horse farm. That would definitely be fun therapy! :)

No knitting today because I was busy holding a baby! Last week I held the twins of one preschool mum (almost 7 weeks at the time) and today I held the boy of another mum (only a day younger than the twins). Lots of fun! :D

It looked like rain when school got out, but it wasn't bad at all in the half-hour before Brad returned from work, so I asked the boys to help with the planting. There was a rosebush that hadn't made it from previous years (possibly planted too low for the climate) so that came out and the new one went in. If I plant one rosebush between each pair of fenceposts on that side of the yard, I still have room for four more... ;) ;)

Hope the strange weather is still good for plants and flowers. Opening the pool sounds like a fun way to celebrate the weekend. :)

We have 7 hens and 1 rooster.  He was supposed to be a hen, lol.  We have three Buff Orpington hens and the rooster is a Buff as well. We have two Rhode Island Reds and two Ameraucanas. They are something to watch! Too funny about the chickens running everywhere in Hawaii.

I hope our Pyrenees/Border Collie keeps the wildlife out of our yard too, so they won't prey on the chickens.

Hi Becca, sounds like those boys are keeping you super busy.  My second son had speech issues, seemed like first grade was the worse year for it, we tried to get him into speech therapy but they were almost always full so he got very little help even though his teacher agreed he really needed it.  Thankfully, all his speech problems completely went away on their own eventually.

I think it would be nice to be able to walk to errands and around town.  That's one of the perks we gave up to live in the country.  I never imagined how fast the cars would whiz by out here, there's no sidewalk or shoulder on the road so if I'm walking I have to hit the ditch if a car comes by.

How many chickens do you have Angie?  So fun to hear about them.  I was telling my son in Hawaii how our yard is being overrun with rabbits and raccoons.  They don't have those in Hawaii but he said there are chickens running lose everywhere.  He recently went camping and was awakened in the morning by a rooster right by his head.  I think our Border Collie kept the wildlife out of our yard more than we thought.

There is also laundry to do, as well as fold and the chickens to take care of.  They are getting so big.  Time for them to go outside more.  DH is supposed be build something for them. There is also all the usual household chores as well.  Almost time to wake the kiddos and get this day started!  Hope you have a great day!
