Wow, the year seems to be passing very quickly! It's hard to believe my oldest has only two months left in his first year of school. And about this time next year, we'll be getting ready for kindergarten orientation with the younger one.

How's the weather in your area? Any plans for the month? Chat it up, folks! :)

Angie - Sorry you haven't been feeling well.  Woohoo to the new puppy!  I can't wait to get our German Shepard for protection.  Dh says no way until our little ones are gone though.  :(

The weather here has been pretty awesome.  We had a couple of 80 degree days, and the kids were able to use the pool.  They have played in their new bounce house a couple of times, and we spend a good amount of the afternoon outside.  It is calling for rain the next few days, which is good for me.  If we are inside, I can get things done.  :)

Copy and pasted from CSP so I didn't have to type it twice.

I had a meeting with JJ's teacher and speech therapist on Tuesday, and they told me some sad news.  First, JJ may be denied summer speech therapy, and for his in class speech to be increased to 4 times a week.  Basically, the district I am in has been turning eveybody down for additional services.  Plus, to make matters worse, JJ's school may be closed next year!  Our other options are schools in the city, (NOT HAPPENING!) or schools  30+ minutes away.  He needs the class and I refuse to bus him, so my amount of driving will likely increase greatly next year.  I just feel so blah right now.  Frown  I go tomorrow for the official meeting with the teacher, therapist, and my district people  Prayers for speech approval and for JJ's school to stay open would be greatly appreciated!

Hope you're able to make the most of the weather this weekend, Angie! Here, it should cool down a bit in the next week.

I can understand wanting time inside to get the house in order. It's been really nice here as well and we had some days where we were out a lot, so I had to play catch-up with the cleaning later.

Tough situation, Cindy. I hope JJ gets his summer therapy and you don't have to make the longer drive next year. Apparently funding is being cut for support services in the schools here. I'm hoping Tim will still get to see an occupational therapist in the next school year to work on gross and fine motor skills - all the paperwork's been put through at least, now we wait.

I'm glad to see the weekend arrive! I got some cleaning done this morning but there is still more that could be done. Maybe I'll do a little when Brad takes the boys to buy Mother's Day gifts. ;) Also had a tea party to attend at Tim's school :D and a meeting with the teacher. Seemed like a busy day once I'd gotten a BBQ supper on, cleaned that up, made sure the boys were clean and got them off to bed. I even did a little computer organising before deciding whether to watch something or read. (I picked the first episode of Cadfael from '94. Good novels, and you can't beat Derek Jacobi's portrayal of the detective monk!)

Hi all.  Trying to read up on this thread to keep up with everyone.  Angie, congratulations on your puppy, I still miss our Border Collie so much and think often of getting another or a BC mix.  Our little dachshund will be 11 this summer.

Having a late spring here but am finally getting the flowers and vegetables out.  Busy helping my mom too, can be challenging, still want her to have her independence as much as possible.

Trying to walk or ride my bike everyday.

My son in Hawaii is coming home Friday!  Will be home for 2 months and then off to somewhere else to live but probably not Hawaii so not so far.  Can't wait to see him.  The house will be crowded again with 4 of us here but it will be nice.

Happy Mother's Day all!

Hi, Karyn! You've been keeping busy! Hooray for gardening! Not many tulips here this year, lots of leaves but not many flowers, unless they're just slow at coming up because they're on the colder, shady side of the house. (Wrong place to plant but the flower bed was already established, so I assumed anything could go there, tsk tsk.) I'm waiting for the roses to bloom, too.

Give your little doggie an extra treat from me. ;) Our neighbours have the same breed and she likes to escape to our yard. I bet our medium-sized dog would love it if she found a way into the fenced portion and played with him. ;)

Good job on the daily exercise! With good weather, I find it easier to make excuses to get out for walks - to the post office, for one or two items at the grocery store, to the ATM, etc. I'm glad we have enough services within walking distance, though I have to say my newer car is a dream to drive! :)

Woo hoo to the return of your son! I hope he enjoys the time at home and finds a place close enough that you get lots more time to visit.

Have a good weekend! Hugs for your mum!

I love German Shepherds. They are great for protection! The new puppy is doing well with the house training because he loves to be outside....sleeping at night...not so much. Hopefully tonight goes smoother than last night.
