October LTP Part 2

I miss LTP! Anyone else have time to chat while things are being fixed in our new iVillage digs? ;)

Hubby's gaming night was cancelled (one of the guys is sick) so we're doing the usual TV evening routine, with Grimm right now. It smells really nice in the house at the moment because I made bread this evening. :D (In the machine since the oven was busy when I noticed our lactose-free bread supply was low. One of these days I'm going to give it a try on my own!) And there's also fresh applesauce in the fridge because I made crockpot applesauce today, which also made the house smell great!

I'm about 2/3 of the way through Emily's Quest. So good and very inspiring (since Emily's a writer and I'm working on it). I'm hoping to finish it tomorrow and work on some plotting of a new story, plus I have a snail-mail letter to finish...

Happy weekend, everyone!

Hi Becca,

You still write snail mail letters? WOW!!! When I am writing my SOAP our, I feel very strange actually writing with a pen! My penmenship is soooo messy now.

Sounds like you are having a nice evening.SIL brought home Chinese. It is so good, especially since I've been eating really healthy all week! I went to Zumba and then took the 2 younger kids to a Halloween carnival at my niece and nephew's school They have gone several years in a row, and love it. I even avoided the treats, amazing!!

I actually did feel a bit strange writing out the SOAP as well because my writing (actually, printing since my writing is awful and my printing flows together a little as it is!) tends to be just for to-do lists and short notes. I haven't been doing as many snail-mail letters this year, but I do have a great-aunt who got a letter a month from me last year. She's usually why I think of writing letters, 'cause she's in a home and doesn't use computers.

We had Chinese a couple weekends ago, yum yum! Last night we had stuffed peppers for supper, soooo good! Ben needed a little coaxing to try his portion, but once Hubby helped him cut it up and left the knife for him, the little guy was happy and ate it all up!

I'm hoping they'll start some sort of carnival or alternative to trick-or-treating in our area. I know there's something in the city, but in our village itself, they just give out hot chocolate at the fire hall. Walking door to door is still encouraged. While I like to pass down traditions, this is one I'd give up for safety! (Meanwhile, candy is already purchased for giving out at our house since Hubby likes to do that. I bought an extra box of fruit gummies to swap out the chocolate that Tim receives, so he doesn't ingest much lactose.)

Not sure what the plans are today with a forecast of rain and possibly snow! Maybe reading and writing for me, a puzzle done with the boys and a video game for Hubby! :)

I am getting little projects/cleaning done around the house. DH is working on the bathroom he's remodeling. SIL and I have been having fun chatting. It is beautiful weather, probably 70-something.

We trick-or-treat every year, we always go with the kids so there are no safety issues. DD13 gets to go to a dance next weekend at her cousin's school...second year in a row. It's nice for her to get to do fun stuff. DD15 is too old for TorT but he may walk along with us.

Christmas is coming too fast, I am getting stressed out already. I put things off too long, then get pressured. Bleh.

I think I'll buy cheaper apples every so often just to make homemade applesauce. So much yummier than even the best of the store-bought sauce. Hope yours is great!

Enjoy the fun activities with the grandsons!

Hooray for a good day at home getting things done! Nice weather! So far just rain here and we had time for a (dry) walk early this afternoon.

I take the boys out on Halloween while Hubby mans the candy bowl at home. Hopefully I won't be worrying too much when the boys are old enough to go on their own, or maybe they'll just let me come to hold any overflowing candy bags/buckets. ;)

I have birthdays to plan and buy for before Christmas stuff, but I'll start planning out purchases and/or handmade gifts next month. I will refuse to worry and stress this year! (Or so I state now. LOL)

Hello!!  I have missed LTP too!  Yum to homemade bread, applesauce and Chinese!  I love all the fun outdoor fall activities! We had a busy weekend....our floors were installed {we are still working on putting the house back together}, we served at a spaghetti dinner fundraiser last night, we went to church this morning, out to lunch with friends, to the horse farm and the grocery store.  I am so thankful DH cooked dinnner.  Now I need to go do the dishes and read for a bit!

We got to church this morning even though it was a low-energy day for me. I'm glad we did. :) Also watched a family movie together. I'm partly caught up on Bible reading, too, and did a puzzle with the boys.

Tomorrow morning I need to finish off my grocery shopping list, then Ben and I will take care of it. If we get to Wal-Mart for non-perishables, we'll likely pick up (or at least price) Tim's birthday gift for the 29th. :)

I actually love writing with pen and paper. I should send out more snail mail letters.

I have a recipe here for crock pot applesauce.  I really want to try it! Dh is trying to take off Halloween night so he can go out with us.  It won't be the same without him.  :(

Today starts his new school today.  I'm a bit sad about it, but know it is what is right for his future.
