October LTP Part 2

I miss LTP! Anyone else have time to chat while things are being fixed in our new iVillage digs? ;)

Hubby's gaming night was cancelled (one of the guys is sick) so we're doing the usual TV evening routine, with Grimm right now. It smells really nice in the house at the moment because I made bread this evening. :D (In the machine since the oven was busy when I noticed our lactose-free bread supply was low. One of these days I'm going to give it a try on my own!) And there's also fresh applesauce in the fridge because I made crockpot applesauce today, which also made the house smell great!

I'm about 2/3 of the way through Emily's Quest. So good and very inspiring (since Emily's a writer and I'm working on it). I'm hoping to finish it tomorrow and work on some plotting of a new story, plus I have a snail-mail letter to finish...

Happy weekend, everyone!

Yummy, ribs sound good.

I carved two pumpkins for the kids.  They look ok, but am not an artist.  lol  I forgot that Julia wanted to decorate a pumpkin for school, and she remembered last night.  She is upset that she won't be able to take it to school, but I told her we can still make it and leave it here at home.  Bad mommy flaked on that one.  :(

Ben had preschool this morning, then I made banana bread and got ribs in the oven to slow cook. We'll carve our pumpkin after supper (unless the ribs take a long time, then maybe the carving first and meal later).

We also keep bottled water on hand. I used to drink more water if it was already bottled and Hubby found that as well. We usually add a low-cal flavour.

Becca - it sounds like a great party!

Angie - Stay safe!  I am also prepared for losing power, but hoping it doesn't happen.  it is crazy here!  Every store is out of bottled water.  I'm glad we already had one package.  I picked up a couple more just to be on the safe side.  Dh drinks them at work, so it will get used up eventually either way.  :)

Our party turned out great, just the right size with 3 kids coming out of 4 invited. Add our two and both sets of grandparents, and we had enough people for our cosy house. One mother stayed as well. Lots of fun, good food and far too many gifts for one five-year-old! ;)

Ooh, that's gotta be a good recipe to have around. I never did make chicken corn chowder myself instead of buying canned soup...

I guess we are prepared as we are going to be for the storm. I am hoping and praying that the power outages are minimal.
