Congrats to Melissa, who was the last to post in August! Here's your snazzy blinkie:

And now we face a new month. Are we up to the challenge of chatting it up? :smileywink: Whoever is last to post just before midnight Eastern on September 30th will win!

Let's get started! :smileyhappy:

We don't have cable or satellite.  Just antenna tv.

We also have Netflix streaming.

We cut down to basic cable here. We get 13 channels I think. The only channels we miss are Nick Jr and Disney. But we can get a lot of the kid's stuff on Netflix and Amazon instant stream.

We thought about getting rid of cable completely. But sitting and enjoying a couple of shows in the evening is how I relax after a very long day. I didn't want to give them up. We also don't want to miss out on things like the Olympics and dh wants the World Series and Superbowl. :smileyhappy:

Today I am doing a couple of loads of laundry.  I am also going to cut JJ's hair.  If dh works OT, I will have to run to the store as well.  The supermarket is having a Saturday sale.  My friend works there, and is getting there early to grab us each two of the turkey breasts that are on sale for $.99/lb.  I really don't want to drag both kids to the store during a busy sale day, but I would really like a turkey dinner.  :smileyhappy:

We were hardly using any of the extra channels we had with our first satellite company, so we chose the most basic package when we decided to switch over. We also use Netflix, so that gets us older series and a lot of kids' programming. (One thing I'll say for Netflix Canada is that they've got soooo much for kids, very helpful!)

We had no cable when we first moved here, but two months was enough of that and we settled on satellite because apparently the cable company's service out here isn't great and most folks go with satellite.

Sometimes I think it might be nice to just read and listen to music in the evenings, but our TV routine is still the norm so far. And I have to admit I get very excited for some shows, can't quite get TV out of my blood. :smileywink:

I hope the haircut went well. I tend to put a kids' show on TV for the boys when it's time to trim, then they sit on a low stool. They like the barber's cape that came with our clippers, so that makes it fun for them too and they'll sit still for a few minutes for me. :smileyhappy:

Yay for turkey on sale! I need to pick up a turkey for next weekend. My family is getting together on Sunday for a potluck-style pre-Thanksgiving dinner, then Hubby and I will roast our turkey on Monday, the actual holiday. (Yay for two dinners for me, hee hee!)

The haircut went alright. I put his booster seat on the chair, strap him in, and put on one of his favorite shows. He still struggled and screamed while the shaver was on, but he did fine during the scissor trimming on top.
