We had an outdoor service at the nearest ball park. The valley is celebrating May Days and most of the events are happening in the park, so there were a couple ball games being played as we had a shorter service than usual. It was nice to sit in the shade (of one of the tents used for the beer gardens) while also being able to worship with a great view of the mountains. :) I'm glad this was included in the May Days schedule and I hope they do it next year, too!

The pastor's message today was about sin coming from the inside like a worm inside an apple. (Apparently they don't tunnel in but are there from the apple blossom stage. Never knew that!)

I also liked chatting afterwards with a few of the ladies while we had some centennial cake (100 yrs of May Days here) right after the service. (Here I thought I missed it because I didn't get to the celebrations in the park last night...) Ben chowed down on a couple bits of cake I took off my piece while Tim was busy playing at the playground a few steps away. And it's such nice weather out there that we should get back out at least once today!

Wow, Becca, that sounds like a really nice day!!!

Today's sermon was about being committed, like the people who followed Jesus around (crowds) were committed to staying with him.

Then I worked in the 5/Kindergarten class and it was bittersweet because today was the last day the kindergarteners will be in there, they are moving up to the 1st-5th grade class. My son had his last day in the Junior High class, too, he's moving to high school!!! I shed a few tears over all that.
