Weekend What's Up?

I still want to do alliterative subject lines at times - old habits die hard? ;) - and also wanted to see what everyone's doing this weekend, so pardon the silly thread title. ;)

So far it's been a fairly relaxing morning. The boys get into skirmishes every so often, but we're hoping that means Tim's standing up for himself and not letting Ben become a bully. (Oh, the fun of having different personalities clash!)

I started to organise the boys' closet with Tim (thinking that since Hubby had to go to work for a few hours, we might as well do something productive too) and then Ben spotted a train set that was set aside. At least we got through a stack of books first. Now we have more to donate to the library (or recycle as a last resort).

Now the boys are working on sharing the two engines that go with the set (one still working on battery and the other requiring "imagination," as Tim put it). I might head back to the closet or see if I can declutter in my bedroom a little, since piles sprung up in December - take your eye off them and they multiply! ;)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend and getting in some reading time, of course! :)

We had a rough start to the morning with Ben having a bad temper tantrum - he's three, so it's probably fairly typical in the developmental stages - so we had a late start to the day. Stayed home from church, eased into the day, baked a bit after lunch... And Chinese takeout for supper. :)

Quiet Saturday here, some outdoor play for the kids after lunch, time to read, and we all watched "Homeward Bound" (the '93 version with Michael J. Fox). I made chicken fajitas for supper. :) No plans for tomorrow except church.

Yay for getting to stay home instead of being the chauffeur! (Of course, there are times it's good to be running around, like when you've been stuck inside due to weather or sickness and just need to get out!)

I can't remember what the latest VeggieTales movie was... Should check that out again 'cause I bet I saw something about it online or in the Christian Book catalogue that comes in the mail every couple months. I like The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything. :)

I have cabbage rolls on the meal plan for today, so there will be leftovers tomorrow (and should be enough for Hubby's work lunch on Monday). If anyone's in the mood for takeout instead, I'll suggest going for Chinese 'cause we get a few days out of it when we get a dinner for two plus more veggies and meat... Yum yum!

Last night me and the kids had dinner and movie night with my friend and her two kids.  Today Julia has a birthday party to go to.  Dh took her out shopping for a gift, and is taking her to the new Mcdonald's for lunch.  I even convinced him to take her to the party later so I can relax at home and get my cleaning, menu, and shopping list done.

Tomorrow I am in the nursery.  If JJ is still not healthy enough, he will have to stay home with dh.  Julia is excited because they are watching a Veggie Tales movie tomorrow.  I think it's a new one.  After church will be nice because it's our order out week.  (Every other Sunday on pay week.)  I love when I don't have to cook after church.  :)

Yay for time with the horses! I'm not sure what our weekend plans are, but hopefully something relaxing. We have a list of kids' movies to choose from if it's too chilly to be outdoors. Hubby does have a propane heater for the garage if he wants to do some woodworking.

This evening I am hoping we can watch a family movie. Tomorrow we are going to our rental to do a bit of cleaning and bring a truckload back. It is getting down to just things that need to go to the dump. Sunday we will go to church, home for lunch and then to the horse rescue farm. I miss being around the horses! :)
