It has been quite a summer:

death, more than a handful.  A few beak-ups, a few injuries, several new community commitments, a string of bad luck that has caused this to be the most expensive season of my entire life.  Sorry for my absence -- I've had bare seconds, and when I grab them, a line or two on Facebook is all I can manage.

What's new in your world?   What am I missing?

I am preparing for an open mic in Yarmouthport this coming Thursday ... hopefully the verses of fellow poets will spark a new one before I have to ask Good Sir for his magic pen.

I guessed you were occupied with other commitments.  Sorry to hear about the deaths, break-ups and other problems but, if it is of any consolation, you are always worth waiting for.

"What's new in your world?"   I'm sorry to say that my wife and I are slowly getting to be more forgetful, so much so that we have had to seek medical advice on the matter.   She is worse than me, she had a brain scan and they found a few cells were not functioning.  The dreaded word 'DEMNTIA' is to the forefront?  It's down to old age I guess, but I don't think I Will forget my way here.

I did have a go at this open mike business, (quite some time ago)  in a local pub, unfortunately, my chosen four poems had different types of "Sh*t" as the subject.  There was: Horse-sh*t , Dog-sh*t, Cow-sh*t and even my own sh*t).  There was much laughter and hilarity, but hey! I'm a serious poet and 'to be or not to be' laughed at..    I mention this dear lady because the magic pen these days is just so full of Sh*t, but by all means, you may have the borrowing of it.

Always go for a laugh first -- I do.  have had much success with going that route, if I may say so.  Make 'em laugh ... then make 'em cry.

You are eons away from dementia.  Writing helps to keep that dreaded condition at bay.  Write, paint, draw, take photos, travel -- you and the Mrs must stay as mentally active as you can.  I'm sure you know all this, but I'm reminding you ... in case you forgot.  <wink, wink>

That damn wink of yours seems to get to be more of an affliction these days, but no matter, I am so glad that you have confidence in me yet.

I always get a strange feeling knowing that you/ and or others are on the net at exactly the same time as me.  Don't know if there is a poem in there but it's worth considering.  Put your hand behind the screen and touch me?
