We sometimes get impatient when we don't get an immediate response to a poem, but we also object when initial responses are limited to "Thank you" or "Great work", brief negative comments, or comments bawed on misunderstandings which could be quickly resolved by a second or third reading. So I often read a poem when I get here (with increasingly limitied time, that's not always every day), and if I have any questions or doubts or even wonder how to respond to a sensitive topic, wait for a while, even for a few days, reread the poem many times, and see what others have said.
Several poets post here occasionally, not on a regular basis. I wish they'd stop by more often. Poets don't need to have a finished poem ready or almost ready for publication to post here, and we don't rip each other apart. We don't need dozens of posts a day but we'd all gain from having more participation.

Thanks for the discussion about how long it takes to get a response on the board.

Once more dear friends,
into the breach.
We shall slay the monsters
that deny our sleep.

Jackie, glad you liked it.
Ray, beautiful imagery! I love the first verse, especially.
Dear lady, this is not perfect, but then, I enjoyed it so much that perfection pales when compared with your perspicacity.
