Hello...luker Maryann now 75 and alive! How are you all~Healthy I hope and busy as always. So glad this board is
is still here and best wishes for a revival. I've been hoping for one of my own. The following is a beginning I hope.

Bear Eeyore and Rabbit

While planting or cleaning flower beds

a small toy car is un-earthed

where childern once played

take them to the Boys room

mementoes of sweet childhood.

Our grandsons now grown

have toddlers of their own.

Bear, Eeyore, Rabbit, and purple dinosaur still live here.

no one takes them home,

could the reason be they don't do anything?

Not so…

While we sleep in the dark of night

a howling wind may whip ‘round the house

shadows may dance on a softly lit wall

while other unknown entities

tap upon the bedroom window

striking fear in a young ones heart.

The child tightly hugs Bear, Eeyore and Rabbit

burrows his face into their familiar, comforting, soft bodies

without a sound or movement

they lull the child into fearless sleep

having done what they do best.

Welcome back, Maryann! I'm so glad to see a poem from you.

This poem seems to be two stories: the toy found in the garden and put in the Boys' room (what adventures did the car have with the boys, and while it lay neglected in the garden?), and the sweet story of the boys who now stay there and are comforted by the same Bear, Eeyore, and Rabbit who comforted their fathers.

It could make a nice children's story, even an illustrated book.

I'm having a lot of trouble posting here, but I'll keep trying.
