it could be the drowning standing on the ground
sucking in air with no effect. it could be the stabbing
in and out of flesh without a trace of slash. it could be
being swallowed whole with no big mouth apparent.
it could be this day in the gray of hours that are so in
between the betweens there is no room at all,
and all the room imaginable. it could be so quiet
yet my ears bang incessantly. and i don't think ever
it will go away but just in a moment it just might.

If only writing about it could make the torture go away!

If writing about it could make the torture go away,

If writing about it could make torture go away,

If writing could make torture go away,

you would be the one to do it - you'd

wrap it in chains, drag it to a pit full of acid,

slide it over the razor-edged rim,

watch it dissolve in bubbles and shrieks

to make sure that
