Hi all,

Would you please c/p this?

Trickles of water attach to my window

Seasons give way to another anew

I think of you as your photo emerges

Your face thinly framed by a sky's robin blue

I walked around in your work boots today

I wanted to feel how you felt once before

The warmth of the soles formed a perfect circumference

The cavernous holes spoke of years without worn

You're with another now; I understand

Her life and yours now attach at the seams

But I still see your face propped up on the mantle

I still hear your voice ring out in my dreams

You're with another now; I understand

I won't hear your steps shuffle in through the door

Though it's hard to recall that the life that we had

simply doesn't exist anymore

I don't know why this didn't print out the way I wrote it; I skipped a line after every 4 lines, but it didn't come out that way.

Hi and welcome Lovingsoul.  Sorry to be so late in responding but, this board has changed so much of late that we are all confused just now.  It is a theme of mine, (an old aged male Brit)  that there are so many heartbreaking partings of couples in America as to be almost "unbelievable."  Yours is no exception, except that you write so lucidly and convincingly about your dilema.  I have copied your poem and have made what I think are improvements to it, may it please you to agree or not?

I so love your take on a broken relationship and even more so that your acceptance of it has inspired you to write so moving a poem as this. I think you are an exceptional person.
