I'm sure most, if not all, of us remember reading Lord of the Flies in high school.

I admit that I probably need to reread LOTF, but they seem to address different aspects of brutality to me. But it's only a matter of time before the "classics" get pushed aside...and then books we love now become those that kids in future generations are annoyed they have to read. ;)

It's been a very long time since I read Lord of the Flies, but I can see some of the parallels between the two story lines. However, I do think The Hunger Games explored the good/dark side of human nature in a more rounded, modern

It wouldn't surprise me if Hunger Games did someday become required reading. I think today's "Survivor" generation can relate better to HG. Also, the fact that it includes strong female characters adds to the appeal.
