Hunger Games among books most challenged by parents

Wow... according to this article, The Hunger Games books are some of the most challenged by parents and teachers, ranking number 3 in the American Library Association's Office for Intellectual Freedom list. Ok, so I totally get the concern over the violencet; the story is basically a war trilogy, so of course there is violence. But those other things... I'm wondering if these people even read the same books I did! Granted, I wouldn't hand them off to an eight year old, but YA to me implies teens and the teens I know loved the books and enjoy discussing them.

What do you think? Are we as a whole being overly sensitive... and if so, is that really good for our children?
