I just recently finished reading the last book in Charlaine Harris' vampire mystery series, better known as the Sookie Stackhouse books and it brought this question to mind:
My friend, Angie, is one of those folks who didn't read the Harry Potter books until after the 7th book was released. One of the reasons she said she held off was because she finds the wait between books to be torture. She wants to be able to read a whole series without waiting for the next book to be released.
My response to this was that even though waiting for the next book in a series can be difficult, it was also part of the fun. Because while you are waiting for the next book to be released you can speculate with other fans about what is going to happen next.
So, my question is, are you one of those who can't bear to wait and won't start a series unless all of the books have been released or do you find that you don't mind waiting?
