In an op-ed for the Daily Beast, Jodie Foster thinks we should all show a little compassion when it comes to the personal lives of celebrities. In particular? Let's give Kristen Stewart a break.

She really makes a lot of sense with this..

"Actors who become celebrities are supposed to be grateful for the public interest. After all, they’re getting paid. Just to set the record straight, a salary for a given on-screen performance does not include the right to invade anyone’s privacy, to destroy someone’s sense of self."

Whether or not Rob and Kristen are finished as a couple or decide to give it another go is, of course, up to them. I just hope they're given the privacy they need to make their choices... I can't imagine how horrible it must be to have your every move dissected by the world!

I've often thought that it would be awful to be so famous that you couldn't step out your own front door without photographers hounding your every step.  I know I would never wish for that sort of fame.  And it's not as though Kristen was a really well-liked person.  She comes off as snooty.  I think part of the media frenzy is because so many people are glad to see her get her "come-uppance".

I remember reading an interview that Rob gave a while back, where he addressed the publics perception of her. He said that he felt a lot of it was because the media tended to go out of their way to use photos of her where she's not smiling. He mentioned that quite often, he was with her during those events and she was happy and smiling, but when the photos were published, they always seemed to chose the most unflattering. Kind of like they were just intent on continuing to portray her as miserable.

***My point exactly!  The media portrays her as this unsympathetic, unlikable person.  Now that this story has broke, the media has taken the ball and really run with it.  What she did was wrong and I'm not excusing it, but people forget that she's only 22 or 23 and only human.
