Hi! I wanted to try a few audiobooks while working out at the gym. I don't want a book that does character voices, rather, I'd like to just have the story told. Is there a way to know which books are like that or is it a game of chance?

I don't often do audiobooks myself, but looking at the few I have, it looks like you'll either see one name or many.

There's somebody on my board who does lots of audiobooks, I'll ask her and send her here or let you know what she says.

My husband and I do audiobooks all the time while traveling and usually there will be a list on the cover for the voices. I too like the ones that are narrated by one voice.

Erin, here's what my boardie said:

"Boy; not sure.  Obviously if there's more than one listed reader, it's voices.  I would think it depends on the book, but mostly the ones I listen to, the reader does somewhat do voices.  I'm not sure I'd want someone to just read - the voices (when well done, and most seem to be these days) add such personality to the book!"

Erin,

World War Z, which is an unabridged version of the novel and a wonderful audibook, with a huge cast, of amazing actors. I recommend it highly! If you've seen the movie, it's nothing like the audiobook or book.
